Quarantzine forum code of conduct

Post by super_eli_oat »

Welcome to the Quarantzine forum!

This isn't a space where anyone needs to explain or defend their marginalization or have their feelings or experiences dismissed or criticized.

This document is to help us maintain a safe space. If you have any comments or suggestions to make this document better, please don't hesitate to reply to this thread. Mods and admins will update this document from time to time, so make sure to check back in every now and again.

Bigotry, including but not limited to discrimination or hate speech based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability or any other attacks on one's personhood will not be tolerated and will result in being banned from the forum. The same is true for any sort of threatening behavior or harassment.

The purpose of Quarantzine is to document this moment in time. This moment is scary and complicated. As such, some folks may want to grapple with some potentially difficult stuff. Don't feel like you need to shy away from that sort of thing, but engage with it consciously. If you ever feel uncomfortable do not be afraid to bring that up and let your feelings be known. Advocate for yourself and your safety. If you are worried that something you are about to post may be over a line, re-read it. Sit with it for a bit. If you decide to post it, post it with a content warning to let other folks know what is in store.

If you address another person directly, check their pronouns first. Pronouns should be listed in everyone's signature.

If at any point you feel uncomfortable about anything that may be taking place, do not hesitate to reach out to a mod or admin. As of the initial writing of this document the mod team is very small, but in the future we hope to grow the team to include more diverse voices so that you will feel comfortable reaching out to one or more of the mods should the need arise.
